Chelsea is not the only show in town- the Eden Project is grabbing a share of publicity too.

The attraction in Cornwall has come up with a great PR idea by installing a special ‘stinky step’ to enable visitors to get up close and personal with the world’s biggest, smelliest flower – the titan arum.

Those brave individuals who climb onto the step to savour the full force of the bloom will be encouraged to share their thoughts on what it smells like via social media. Some people have compared it to bad eggs, others to rotting flesh.

Sadly am not one of the lucky ones enjoying first-hand the glories of the 100-year-old Chelsea Flower Show this year, but thoroughly enjoyed Alan Titchmarsh’s summary of the best bits of Chelsea’s ‘past and present’ last night on the BBC.

My favourite was the Emily Dickinson inspired garden with leather panelled walls and even a leather brook running through its array of beautiful wild flowers. Magical.
